One of PM Law’s legal team has completed a gruelling 10 kilometre swim to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Legal secretary Janine Rogers swam three hundred lengths of Sheffield University’s swimming pool in an impressive time of four hours, nine minutes and 10 seconds.
Janine, a keen swimmer, has so far raised £170 for the charity is hoping to reach £200 with some more sponsorship money still to collect.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is the official charity of swimathon and provides care to more than 40,000 people living with terminal illnesses across the UK.
“Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me – and for those that haven’t donated yet there is still time – it would be good to hit the £200.00 mark,” said Janine.
“I enjoyed the swim until the last two or three kilometres which became very hard going, but the feeling at the finish line made it all worthwhile.
“I was the only one doing 10km, and the other swimmers thought I was a bit mad doing twice the set distance, but I do like a challenge. I am really pleased I did it and for such a good cause too.”
Janine, who trained four to five times a week for three months doing 100 – 250 lengths at a time, is now taking a break from swimming to focus on taking part in a Tough Mudder event in August.
